In December 2009 we undertook an intrusive site investigation behind a failing retaining wall in Northern England. The work involved using a RRV to lift a mini tracked rig on to the top of the wall and drilling window sample boreholes directly behind it, 2 of the bores had installations (1 standpipe and 1 inclinometer).
This is the first stage of the investigation into the failure of the wall with more monitoring and analysis to come over the next few months.
